Black Diamond Casino Review

When I write reviews for this website, I like to give my readers an honest overview of all facets of an online casino. You need to know exactly what to expect when you download a casino client or register for their Instant Play games. Included in my reviews are usually 2-3 examples of games that you can try for play money so you can get a sense of how the software plays.

Why am I telling you all this? Well, when I started my review of Black Diamond Casino, I went looking for the play money games (for my own benefit, truth be told) and was shocked to find out that the casino would not let me sit down at any of their games without having first made a deposit. I don’t know what this casino is thinking; most players like to take a casino for a test drive before committing to a deposit. So, right out of the gate, this casino gets a tick in the negative column from me. Let’s see if they can pull things together before my review is over.

Black Diamond Casino, which opened its doors in 2009, is one of the multiple brands owned and operated by the folks at Deckmedia. It appears that Deckmedia has “outsourced” operations to a company called Engage Entertainment out of Antigua, although the parent company holds the gaming license from Curacao. This license isn’t worth much more than the paper it is written on; there is a regulatory board with whom you can register a complaint against their license holders, but very little is usually done to protect players who play at Curacao-licensed casinos.

Black Diamond

ACCEPTED U.S. STATES
The good news about Black Diamond holding a Curacao gaming license? Well, that county tends to turn a blind eye when it comes to what countries their casinos are allowed to drive traffic from. In the case of this casino, if you live in the United States, you will not have any issue creating accounts and making deposits. This is great to see, as there are not enough casinos out there for players in the U.S. to choose from (for a good reason, of course).

  • Accepts U.S. players
  • Excellent Slots Catalog
  • Casino lobby navigation

  • Withdrawal limits are terrible
  • Confusing promotions
  • Weak Welcome Bonus

Is Black Diamond Casino Legit for U.S. Players?

Well, the casino accepts U.S. players, so that goes a long way to making Black Diamond casino legit for Americans. They are definitely not the worst casino I have reviewed, and aside from ridiculous rules for withdrawing your money (detailed later on), I would say that if you are living in the U.S. and thinking of playing, you will be fine with your choice of Black Diamond.

The casino also becomes more legit with a scrolling list of recent winners. You can see that list here:

Casino Review

It seems that Black Diamond Casino has had a difficult time over the years either choosing the right software or sticking with one provider. I haven’t been able to determine exactly why all the movement, however, I am hopeful it isn’t for negative reasons that the switches have been made. As it stands, Black Diamond has settled on content from multiple suppliers, including Betsoft, Pragmatic Play (formerly TopGame), Visionary Gaming and Octopus Gaming.

PLEASE NOTE: The URL for this casino is www.blackdiamondcasino.net, which is important to know because if you select the .com address for the URL, you will be redirected to the Zynga social casino. Unless you like paying real money for fake chips, I would stay away from Zynga and focus on playing to win real cash at the official Black Diamond Casino site.

We are going to cover the following in our detailed review:

Casino Game Selection

One of the things I like the most about Black Diamond Casino is the way they lay out their casino games. Too many casinos don’t focus on the lobby flow; when you are trying to navigate your way through hundreds of game titles, being able to find what you want in a short amount of time means you are going to be gambling sooner.

Table Games

One of the first games I like to play when entering a casino is Pai Gow Poker. The ease of play and the low house edge make it a nice entry point to a long session of gambling. Imagine my surprise when I could find a Pai Gow table at Black Diamond casino. It seems this is a theme; they are missing a lot of regular Table Games like Caribbean Stud and Ultimate Texas Hold’Em. I am not sure why the lack of these games exists; they are using multiple providers so you would assume that they would take advantage of all the games available to them.

If you are a fan of Blackjack or Roulette, then this casino has you covered. With multiple variants of each game, Black Diamond is sure to have a title or two that meets your needs. Here is a list of the Table Games you can find in this casino’s lobby:

  • Double Exposure Blackjack
  • Baccarat
  • Electronic Roulette
  • Royale BlackJack
  • Roulette Titanium
  • Multihand Blackjack
  • Crystal Roulette
  • Roulette Black Diamond
  • Zoom Roulette
  • Craps
  • Pontoon
  • Vip American Roulette
  • European Blackjack
  • American Blackjack
  • Common Draw Roulette
  • Vip European Roulette
  • European Roulette

Slots

There are over 100 titles in the Black Diamond slots lobby; using multiple providers for the content means that you will see games with very different looks to them, as well as games that feature different pay line structures. The games can be sorted alphabetically, by popularity and also by the software developer. This is an added value; if you like (or don’t like) the way certain slots are set up, you can isolate them with a click of a button.

Have a look at some of the titles that are available at Black Diamond Casino:

Video Poker

My eyes lit up with joy when I clicked on the Video Poker tab of the lobby. I am a huge fan of these games, and when I hit any casino, you can be sure that I am getting in a few hours of play on the Jacks or Better machine. Not only will you find that variant at Black Diamond, but you will also find a couple dozen more machine types, including the very popular Multi-hand and Pyramid versions of video poker. Here are the games you can try (but only for real money of course):

Specialty Games

There are always a few games in an online casino that don’t fall into the other, more traditional categories. These games tend to be more lottery-based; they don’t give the player very good odds, but they are very easy to play. I like to call them “time-killers, ” but there is a subset of casino players who really enjoy them.

From scratch tickets to virtual racing, there are many Specialty Games options for you at Black Diamond Casino:

  • Keno
  • Bingo Bonanza
  • Triangulation
  • Weed Whacker
  • Pharoah’s Gems
  • Mumbai Magic

  • Virtual Racebook 3D
  • Monkey Keno
  • Bunny Boiler Gold
  • Freezing Fuzzballs
  • Spingo
  • Hairy Fairies
  • Dawn Of The Bread
  • Foamy Fortunes
  • Big Break
  • Cashapillar Scratch Card
  • Golden Ghouls
  • Bubble Bonanza
  • Bowled Over
  • Dragons Fortune
  • Premier Trotting

Customer Service

Black Diamond has an excellent FAQ area of their website, which acts as their first line of Customer Service. Many issues can be resolved simply by reading through these FAQ; if you can’t find an answer to your question there, then I suggest you use the Live Chat option. You need to have a real money account to access the Live Chat agents, but seeing as you can’t play their games for play money, you likely won’t need service until you are a depositing player. The company also offers email for a more traditional Customer Service experience.

Promotions

The Black Diamond marketing team is clearly one run by the parent company, as many of the promotions here are identical to the ones at other Deckmedia casinos. No matter, I am here to review Black Diamond as though you will never see the other brands. I won’t go into details into too many promotions; you can see all the details by clicking on this link:

I am going to focus on two Welcome Offers currently on display at Black Diamond:

Welcome Package

You will receive 25 Free Spins at account signup without making a deposit, which is limited to specific slots titles. After that, the casino offers different bonuses for each of your first few deposits:

Deposit Bonuses on your first 5 deposits:

  • Deposit 1: 200%
  • Deposit 2: 100%
  • Deposit 3: 100%
  • Deposit 4: 100%
  • Deposit 5: 175%

This is a pretty bland Welcome offer, although I do like that the bonus is split over your first 5 deposits.

400% Bitcoin Bonus

This is a little more like it! If you are someone who has already converted to the cryptocurrency or are willing to give it a try, you can take advantage of a whopping 400% bonus on your first three Bitcoin deposits. The company doesn’t pay a hefty fee for Bitcoin transactions, so it is in their best interests to try to get as many players to make the switch as possible.

One thing to keep in mind for both of these promotions is that there is no explanation of the minimum and maximum deposits for these bonuses. I would send the Customer Service team a quick not to confirm how to take advantage of your first few deposits best.

Banking

There are many banking options for you at Black Diamond Casino. Being that they take U.S. players, credit cards are at the top of the list; it can’t be too cheap for the casino to offer this to players, so be thankful that Black Diamond is taking that hit for you.

Deposit Options

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • American Express
  • Maestro
  • Skrill
  • Neteller
  • ecoPayz
  • Bitcoin

Where I have a major issue with the casino is the way it deals with player withdrawal requests. It seems like you would have to provide less information to become President as you do to make a successful withdrawal at Black Diamond; look at the documents you have to provide:

Valid government-issued photo identification card;

  • Copy of a recent utility bill no older than three (3) months prior to the submission date;
  • Front copy of the Card(s) used to fund the Account.
  • Credit/Debit Card Vouchers of all cards used in the past six (6) months

Not only that, but you also have a restrictive limit based on your status level at the casino. This is a classless act by the casino; it’s a desperate move to either have you play more or leave y our money on the site; either way, I am not a fan at all of this policy. Look how restrictive it is unless you are a VIP:

  • VIP Basic Level Members have a C$500 maximum withdrawal limit per week
  • VIP Silver Level Members have a C$750 maximum withdrawal limit per week
  • VIP Gold Level Members have a C$1,000 maximum withdrawal limit per week
  • VIP Platinum Level Members have a C$3,000 maximum withdrawal limit per week
  • VIP Titanium Level Members have a C$10,000 maximum withdrawal limit per week
  • VIP Master Level Members have a custom maximum withdrawal limit per week

Withdrawal Options

  • Bank Wire
  • Neteller
  • Skrill
  • ecoPayz
  • Paper Check
  • E-Check

VIP Program

Well, as you can see from the Banking section, the casino clearly offers players the chance to increase their status at the casino with their VIP program. In fact, Deckmedia offers the players at their casinos essentially the same VIP program; this one is a carbon copy of the Box 24 Casino, one of their sister sites.

I was not able to find out many details on the VIP program when combing through the pages of the Black Diamond website. There did not seem to be a Comp program that allowed you to convert your points instantly into cash, nor was there an explanation of how much you needed to gamble to receive one VIP point. The VIP Program has many tiers, and touts a dedicated VIP Account Management team, along with many perks as you move up the status ladder:

VIP Level Basic Silver Gold Platinum Titanium Master
Birthday bonus 50 points 100 points 200 points 500 points Surprise
Anniversary bonus 50 points 100 points 200 points 500 points Surprise
Customer support
Higher BET LIMITS on games
Dedicated PROMOTIONS
Exclusive TOURNAMENTS
Personal and dedicated VIP HOST
Exclusive EVENTS
VIP Points Tier requirements 0-1,000 1,000 5,000 20,000 50,000 150,000

Conclusion

Is Black Diamond Casino worth your time and money? I would say they are a good option. While there are several casinos that I have reviewed that have better promotions or features, there are a whole bunch of worse casinos out there as well. Given the quality of their lobby and their software providers, I would give this casino a passing grade. If you choose to play for real money, then please give us a shout and let us know your experiences with the brand!
